The leadership of the student union have solemnly resolved to perpetuate, build up and solidify and the existence of the student union and establishing a conducive learning environment.
*ILARA MOKIN TRANSPORT FARE*
• Since the inception of this administration, the leadership of the student union have been working assidiously to maintain the rate of transport of students off campus to the university. Last session, the union executives were able to retain the transport fare to NGN50 naira rather than NGN 70naira. But with the hike in the price of petroleum in the state the transport rate is NGN100 naira, which isn't favourable to the student populace residing at this region.
• After a meeting of the union leaders with students residing at Ilara Mokin. Some resolutions were met and a temporary measure was agreed upon. The temporary measure set in place is a bus to convey students at the rate of NGN50 naira. Hence all students of the university residing at the aforementioned location should converge at the Ilara Mokin junction by 7:00am. While likewise in the evening, a bus would be stationed at the North gate axis of the university to convey students back to the Ilara Mokin junction at the same rate. Residing Students are to converge at the north gate by 4:00pm for the evening transportation.
*EPILEPTIC OFFCAMPUS ELECTRICITY*
• The leadership of the student union and concerned members of the union visited the Benin Electricity distribution company which supply electricity to the off campus regions of the university, over the epileptic nature of the off campus electricity. From the said visit the business manager assured the union that as from 7th of February, 2018, the electricity supply rate would be increased from a minimum of four hours per day to a minimum of eight hours per day.
• As of today the promised is yet to be revealed as the electricity is still epileptic in nature and still of s minimum of four hours per day.
• The union leaders implore all concerned students of the university to converge at the student union building by 12pm on Monday, 12th of February, 2018, for a solidarity movement to the Akure Branch of the aforementioned company.
