‘exceed’ $13 billion, China's investments in Nigeria .

China’s investments in Nigeria have exceeded $13 billion, Chinese deputy ambassador to the country, Lin Jing, has said.

The Chinese envoy said this was the figure at the end of 2016.

Jing made this known when he led a delegation to the national assembly to strengthen bilateral ties between Nigeria and China, The Nation reports.

The envoy said the $1.3billion Lagos-Ibadan railway project was yet another demonstration of China’s commitment to Nigeria’s development.

He said his country’s commitment has been shown through the proposed $326 million 30 rice mills projects in various parts of the country, the China EXIM Bank funded $984 Zungeru hydro-electricity project and the $450 million loan for the construction of Keffi Road.

Jing’s delegation was received by deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, who urged the Chinese government to ensure proper and fair treatment of Nigerians working in the country.
